Highways: Sad sign of the times

 
Kent’s transport bosses have appealed to the public to stop stealing road signs, and warned the thieves could cause a tragic accident.
No entry signs have twice been removed from slip roads leading on to the A299 Thanet Way, prompting fears from council officers that traffic could enter the wrong lane of the dual carriageway.
Chevron signs on bends and roundabouts in the Seasalter area of Whitstable have also been stolen, together with new directional signs from the Stanford area of Stone Street on the B2068.
