A Department for Transport and former Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) director has been appointed by Highways England as its chief financial officer.
Vanessa Howlison
Vanessa Howlison was acting director general for finance and corporate services at DECC from September to November 2013, where she was responsible for finance, procurement, IT and information management, estates and security.
She went on to become group finance director at the Department for Transport, a role she held since 2013.
In a statement, Highways England said Miss Howlinson has 'a strong track record in government finance'.
Ms Howlinson will join Highways England on 20 June.
