Herd how Lewisham is milking recycling opportunities for local kids?

Bins resembling young Fresian cows are to be introduced in all Lewisham primary schools, in an effort to encourage children to recycle more.
Lewisham Council has purchased 70 calf bins, with the first to arrive at Fairlawn Primary School on Thursday 26 April. Councillor Susan Wise, cabinet member of customer services, said: ‘The calf bins are a fantastic idea and a great way to encourage children to recycle more.
‘The move follows a highly-successful pilot in nearby New Cross where full-size “cow” bins bought a 60% increase in recycling.’ All Lewisham primary schools will receive a 500l calf bin over the next few months, together with information booklets and stickers for every pupil.
