A temporary speed limit set up for road workers’ safety may become permanent. The Handy Cross area of High Wycombe has had a temporary 40mph speed limit in place between the Handy Cross roundabout and Wordsworth Road.
Now the roundabout works are nearing completion, Buckinghamshire County Council is consulting making the lower limits permanent.
The authority points to Department for Transport guidance on setting local speed limits which indicates that a 40mph speed limit is appropriate for this type of road.
