HA ‘must also be accountable’ for air quality

 

The Government is facing pressure to ensure the Highways Agency is also held accountable as responsibility for air quality is passed to local authorities. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs last week revealed its intention to give councils greater freedoms and responsibilities to improve air quality through the localism agenda.
