Gum drive begins to bite

 
A new initiative which hopes to cut down the amount of chewing gum litter in Maidstone’s town centre is said to already be making an impact.
Maidstone Borough Council is undertaking a year-long trial of the installation of chewing gum boards, to try and get people to dispose of their gum in a sensible way.
The boards had already raised awareness in the streets, the council said.
