Grids best for west MK

 
Milton Keynes Council is to re-consider its plans for ‘city streets’ in the western expansion area (WEA).

Focus Group on Roads, set up to look at the future of highways in Milton Keynes, released a report last week arguing that the current grid system was ‘right for now and right for the future.’

Council leader, Isobel McCall, said: ‘The economic downturn and the resulting delays to the western expansion area open a window of opportunity for the council to enter into talks with the developer to see if it would be willing to alter the layout of the WEA to one more in keeping with the aspirations of Milton Keynes residents.’
