West Sussex County Council claims to be one of the first authorities in the Southeast to trial running a school minibus purely on biodiesel.
If the scheme, which begins this month, is successful, the council’s entire fleet of minibuses could be changed to run on the fuel. Chichester Grain, a Sussex-based farmers co-operative, has donated 1,000 free litres of biodiesel for the trial.
