‘Go slow’ move for Cardiff

Cardiff Council has proposed a reduced speed limit on the city’s main approach road from the M4 after the hard shoulders were converted into bus lanes for the new Cardiff East park and ride.

Traffic currently travels legally at up to 70mph on the A48 Eastern Avenue, but a 50mph limit is proposed. A council spokesman said: ‘The main reason is the removal of the hard shoulder for the new bus lane. It is also connected to a council/police pledge to tackle accidents.’
