Edinburgh is offering residents free visitor parking permits, in return for erecting signs on their properties.
In a bid to reduce street clutter, the council plans to put up signs associated with the extended controlled parking zone on private walls or railings – instead of erecting poles. When a suitable location is identified, the council will write to the relevant property owner, seeking permission to erect a sign.
