Free for all proves popular

Manchester’s free city centre bus service has seen its popularity increase by more than one-quarter over the past 12 months.
Almost 2.2M trips were made on Metroshuttle in the past 12 months, up from 1.7M in the previous year – an increase of 28%.
Cllr Alan Whitehead, chair of the GMPTA’s transport network committee, said: ‘Metroshuttle is tackling congestion as well as helping change people’s attitudes to public transport.’
