It is with great regret that Transport Network announces that Maureen Rose, former editor of Surveyor magazine, has died.
Maureen was well known in the highways sector and among local authorities as a longstanding editor of Surveyor magazine, which was acquired by the Hemming Group, publishers of Highways and Transport Network, in 1993. Surveyor ceased publication last year after it was merged with Highways.

Michael Burton, editorial director of the Hemming Group, said: ‘Maureen was hugely respected within the highways sector and was a consummate professional who was devoted to Surveyor. She was also a real character with a sharp sense of humour. She will be sorely missed.’
In the mid-1990s Maureen helped set up Surveyor conferences like Cold Comfort which continue to this day and after retirement as editor in 2000 she continued to work freelance on the conference business.
