The Sowton Industrial Estate on the outskirts of Exeter in Devon is believed to be the first in the country to have a limited company to promote sustainable transport. It will co-ordinate working hours and delivery times to stagger vehicle movements, and also allow companies to rotate the days when employees work from home.
The Transport Management Association was due to be launched at the Met Office, a prominent employer on the estate, where 12,000 people work.
