The Highways Agency has appointed a new Managing Agent Contractor (MAC) for the Yorkshire and Humber area. A-one+ has been awarded the five-year MAC contract worth in the region of £200M to provide a range of services including routine and winter maintenance in Area 12.
This area covers 525 miles of routes, including motorways and trunk roads, within North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, the East Riding of Yorkshire and part of Greater Manchester, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
The organisation will also provide incident support and undertake maintenance and improvement schemes up to a value of £500,000.
Vanessa Gilbert, divisional director of network operations for the North East and Yorkshire, said: ‘This appointment allows us to continue to provide a high level of service to the road user, putting our customers first whilst maintaining and operating the strategic road network.’
