Firms ready to Rendezvous

Kent County Council has shortlisted four developers to prepare detailed proposals for a mixed-use development on Margate seafront.

The development is planned for the Rendezvous site, adjacent to the proposed location for Turner Contemporary, due to open in 2010. The shortlisted developers are Crest Nicholson with Land Regeneration UK, Ellandi Property with Helical Bar, Gleeson Homes and Urban Splash.

Kent County Council cabinet member for regeneration, Roger Gough, said: ‘These companies are ideally placed to deliver a high-quality development that will complement the gallery and become a key element in the comprehensive development of Margate’s eastern seafront.’
