Kier Group has appointed Louisa Finlay as chief people officer, with effect from 6 March.
Ms Finlay (pictured), who is currently Kier Construction’s clients and markets managing director, will be part of the group’s executive committee.
She will take over from Helen Redfern, who will be leaving Kier after ten years to take up a role as chief people, sustainability and communications officer outside of the industry.
Kier Group CEO Andrew Davies said: Louisa’s wealth of experience in Kier and the wider construction sector, as well as her commitment to building excellence across all aspects of the people, health, safety, wellbeing and sustainability agendas, mean she is well-placed to our lead people function and drive progress across these vital strategic areas.’
He added: ‘I would like to thank Helen for her hard work over the past decade. Helen has driven forward a progressive people agenda and has been an integral part of our leadership team.’
Ms Finlay has worked for Kier for over 30 years since joining as a trainee engineer on a sandwich degree.
She has worked in numerous sectors and roles in the national and regional construction businesses, including as managing director of the Kier Southern Construction business.
In her current role, as well as responsibilities for key frameworks, clients and markets, she is also Kier Construction’s lead on environmental and social sustainability.
Kier said she is also passionate about the skills, talent pipeline and professionalism of the construction sector, as demonstrated through her roles as trustee of the Construction Industry Training Board and membership of BuildUK, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Construction and Property Industry Mentoring Circle.
