Final two go forward for Birmingham roads PFI

 
Birmingham City Council is taking Amey and a Ringway-Laing consortium forward for the best and final offer stage of its £2.2bn highways private finance initiative.
The contract for the maintenance and management of Birmingham's 2,500km road network would be the largest highways PFI int he UK. It would include 'maximising the availability of road space' and highway trees as well as roads, bridges, footpaths and streetlights. The two bidders have until October to prepare their finalised offers.
