Facelift will make one of capital’s most iconic streets ‘the finest’

The transformation of Camden High Street into ‘one of London’s finest streets’ got under way this week.

The first stage of the Camden Town Project will give a facelift to the northern section of Camden High Street. Work is currently taking place to improve the streets for pedestrians, with wider, high-quality footways together with a zero tolerance approach to street clutter. The reduced carriageway will also lead to slower traffic.

Camden LBC’s executive member for environment, Cllr Chris Knight, said: ‘We are very excited to be starting work to transform one of London’s most important streets.

‘Revamping Camden High Street will keep Camden Town firmly on the map as one of London’s premier destinations, and attract more people to live and do business in the area.’
