FTA slams M6 toll hike

The cost of using the M6 Toll road will rise in the new year for the second time since the motorway opened in December 2003.
The rate for cars will increase from £3.50 to £4, while vans and lorries will pay £8, instead of the current £7 toll.
Criticising the increase, the Freight Transport Association said lorry traffic had been ‘conspicuous by its absence’ since the M6 Toll opened. ‘This dearth of commercial traffic can be directly attributed to the toll pricing structure.’
