Extra salt for rural highways

Somerset County Council is offering parish and town councils in the area the chance to stock up on extra salt supplies for rural roads this winter.

The council has made available additional 20kg salt bags for collection from its local area highways offices.

Cllr Anthony Trollope-Bellew, cabinet member for environment, said the additional supplies would provide an extra boost to communities in order to keep highways and footways clear.
