Nottingham Express Transit has beaten its passenger predictions for the second year running, with 700,000 more journeys notched up on the service than had been predicted. NET revealed that 9.7M trips had been made in the tram’s second year, a 16% increase on the first year, when 8.4M journeys were made – compared with an estimate of 7.5-8M. Particular areas of growth included weekend trips, and journeys originating from connect buses and a park-and-ride at Wilkinson Street.
