Exclusive: Highways England project procurement 'in disarray'

 

The procurement process at Highways England is in disarray and major trade bodies should stand up for the industry and help tackle the problem, according to tier one suppliers.

Highways England unveiled a list of 26 contractors and consultants that had won places on its Collaborative Delivery Framework (CDF) in November 2014. Yet six months on, after investing time and money on bidding for the places, the winning contractors and consultants are complaining about a lack of work and poor organisation in the tendering of contracts.
