Exclusive: DfT answers fears over permit scheme changes

 

Local authorities operating existing permit schemes can make revisions to comply with major reforms the government plans to bring in by 1 October without putting the schemes out to consultation again, Transport Network can reveal.

The Highways Authorities and Utilities Committee (HAUC) (UK) had been concerned that existing schemes might need to launch consultations just to comply with the changes but this is not the case.

However ministers will not act on further concerns over the cancellation of un-worked permit scheme applications.
