Local authorities were invited this week to help write an EU Green Paper on how sustainable urban transport can benefit many municipal policy goals.
The European Commission launched a wide-ranging public consultation on Wednesday (31 January) at a Brussels conference on Urban transport: Problems, solutions and responsibilities. Delegates were told the Green Paper would suggest how urban transport could contribute to issues such as climate change, energy efficiency, congestion, alternative fuels, and road safety.
