Environment: Council scales new heights with guide to border crossing

Powys County Council has published a new guidebook to the Kerry Ridgeway, the historic 15-mile route across the Powys-Shropshire border.
The Ridgeway is one of the most ancient walkways in Britain, and was a major route for cattle and sheep drovers taking animals from Wales to markets in England.
Work to improve signage and link footpaths and bridleways has been funded as part of an EU Objective 2 project. The guide gives route details, along with the location of picnic sites and car parks and is available from tourist information centres.
