Engineers’ rising fortunes

 
Graduate civil engineers now earn an average of £7,000, an increase of 20% in just two years – more than three times the rate of inflation – according to new research from the Institution of Civil Engineers.

The average salary for civil engineers overall in the UK is £48,180, up 12% in two years. Quentin Leiper, ICE president, said: ‘Demand for qualified civil engineers is rising fast. Major infrastructure projects will see top money being paid.’
