Operators have applauded a new map showing the best routes for freight transport in Tyne and Wear.
The North East Freight Council of the Freight Transport Association has welcomed the Tyne and Wear Freight Map’s publication, designed to smooth heavy goods vehicles’ journeys around the conurbation (Surveyor, 26 January). It focuses on strategic routes between motorways, ports and airports, and key destinations for deliveries.
FTA’s head of policy for northern England, Malcolm Bingham, said: ‘The map provides a valuable aid to route planning and daily operations.’
