Early completion is a matter of course for Barford bypass contractor

Construction of a £10M bypass and bridge at Barford, Warwickshire, has been completed three months ahead of schedule.
Contractor Galliford Try said the biggest challenge was creating the foundations for the bridge, which lies on the floodplain formed by an old river course.
The bridge is a steel girder composite, featuring eight steel girders sitting on reinforced concrete supports. Its curved alignment required beams to be prefabricated on a radius and pre-cambered.
The floodplain location of the road made drainage another key consideration, so a system from Aco drainage was used as an alternative to gulleys.
