Ealing rejects tram plan

 
Mayor Ken Livingstone's £648M west London tram has been dealt a blow after the new Conservative administration in Ealing withdrew the council’s support for it.
New council leader, Cllr Jason Stacey would ‘stand shoulder to shoulder’ with neighbouring Hammersmith & Fulham and Hillingdon in their opposition to the ‘ill-thought out scheme’. But Transport for London has pledged to push ahead, even if that meant using the Transport and Works Act order to push the project through.
