Devon’s drive gains fans

 
Devon County Council has won praise for cutting car use and promoting sustainable alternatives.
The National Business Travel Network, which is operated by Transport 2000 Trust, on behalf of the Department for Transport, was launched in the Southwest last week.
Stephen Joseph, executive director of Transport 2000 Trust, said: ‘We’re delighted to see that Devon County Council is reducing car use by promoting and implementing Smarter Choices measures, such as cycling, car sharing, and walking.’ In Devon, car sharing has increased by 11% in two years and sustainable forms of transport have increased by 12%.
