Delays hamper bus project

A £15.3M bus corridor designed to ease congestion and improve bus services along one of the main routes into Doncaster has hit problems.

Buses along one stretch of the A638 Quality Bus Corridor (QBC) are experiencing delays, and unable to meet their schedule, less than two months after the QBC became fully operational.

The project was a partnership between South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and local bus operators, with the Department for Transport putting in £15.3M for the infrastructure works and local bus operators making major investment in their fleets.
