Cyclists find there’s more in store, despite scourge of vandalism

A trial of an innovative way of storing a large number of cycles in a relatively small space has been aborted in Nottinghamshire after vandals struck. Up to eight bicycles can be stored within a two-meter diameter space in the new ‘cyclepods’. The company behind the product – costing £2,995, or £3,830 with a protective canopy – claims that other cycle storage units usually require double the space. Transport for London and private companies, such as Pepsi, are set to use the product. But ~Nottinghamshire County Council~ will not be using the units on the public highway after vandals attacked one it trialled in Newark town centre.
