Counting cost of convoy

Somerset County Council is to pay for road repairs after a convoy of lorries travelling through Highbridge last week damaged some of the footways.
The lorries, carrying grain silos, caused disruption to traffic flows in the town centre over two evenings, and struggled to negotiate a roundabout on Church Street. Eyewitnesses told a local news website that the trucks scraped the pavements, cracked kerbstones and damaged manhole covers.
