Construction starts on Winsford’s £1.9M recycling centre

Work is due to get under way on the construction of a new household waste-recycling centre in Winsford.
Cheshire County Council said that work would begin on the £1.9M centre on 22 January. Forker, of West Bromwich, will build the centre, with funding coming wholly from the council.
The new facility will feature on-site queue space to avoid congestion, full disabled access and secure fencing. There will also be dedicated skips and containers to enable residents to recycle a wide range of items, from glass, garden waste, paper and cardboard to cans, batteries, oil, plastics textiles and timber.
Skip bays will increase from the present three to 17.
The facility is due to open in autumn 2007.
