Construction deaths 'lowest on record'

 
The number of construction workers fatally injured fell to an all-time low in 2005/06, according to the Health and Safety Executive.
In construction, there were 59 fatal injuries to workers, compared to 69 in the previous year, a reduction of 14%. The rate of fatal injury to construction workers fell by a similar proportion, to 3.0 per 100,000 workers from 3.5, continuing the downward trend of recent years.
But the HSE remained concern that so many people continue to lose their lives at work, and warned against complacency.
