Comment: Thurrock does not need another river crossing

 

Over the past four years Thurrock Council has steadfastly maintained its position – no new crossing in the borough, we’ve got three (two tunnels and a four-lane bridge) and that’s enough.

Since 2011 when the Government renewed its calls for consultation on three options – all in Thurrock – we have been calling for the introduction of free-flow tolls and properly investing in the twin M25/A13 Junctions 30 and 31, saying this will do away with the immediate need for a crossing.
