Class move to boost biking

Councillors in Lambeth have got on their bikes to promote sustainable transport.

In a move to encourage residents to use pedal power, the borough has subsidised cycle confidence training sessions.

Council leader, Steve Reed, and cabinet member for the environment, Lib Peck, went along to one of the sessions.

‘The council is serious about doing all it can to help more people take up sustainable forms of transport such as cycling. ‘These classes are an excellent idea for anyone who thinks they would like to cycle more, but is nervous about taking the plunge,’ said Cllr Reed.
