Clarification

The Highways Agency will only consider removing streetlights – as reported in the story Dim view as light claims are queried (Surveyor, 22 February) – where they have reached the end of their life.
This issue is separate to that of whether or not the HA introduces dimming or temporarily switching off lights, which will be subject to trials.
