Civil move for East Sussex

 
East Sussex County Council has been granted civil parking enforcement powers in Eastbourne.

Transport minister, Rosie Winterton, has signed the order, which will now be laid before parliament and is due to come into effect on 13 October. The decision ends months of wrangling between East Sussex and Eastbourne Borough Council, which had called for a referendum to decide on introducing pay-to-park charges in the borough.
