Later this month new rules will come into force covering long stay car parking charges in Southampton.
Parking will be free for any period up to five hours, but for those who wish to stay longer there will be a charge of £5, according to Southampton City Council.
The move is designed to encourage shoppers to the use the car parks – and put off commuters.
