City routes out traffic

 

A number of city centre roads in Nottingham were closed last weekend and general traffic diverted on to new routes.

Residents across the conurbation were warned about the changes – ‘the biggest since the introduction of the tram’ – by thousands of leaflets, and an exhibition in the city’s Old Market Square.

Parts of Parliament Street and Milton Street were closed to general traffic under plans to cut through traffic and reduce the barrier to the city’s expansion, created by the inner-ring road.
