Cars on rise but goods vehicle numbers down

 
The Department for Transport has published national statistics of on the stock of licensed vehicles in Great Britain in 2005.
The information shows the total number of motor vehicles licensed at the end of 2005 was 2% higher than at the end of 2004.
The number of car licences increased by 1.8%, while light goods vehicles licenses went up by over 4%, but overall goods vehicles gaining licences fell by 2.6%.
