Cardiff official suspended

A highways officer at Cardiff Council has been suspended, following allegations of fraud.

Bryan Geeves, Cardiff’s principal lighting officer who also represents CSS Wales on streetlighting, was reportedly escorted from the council’s offices last week.

‘Following allegations of a serious nature, a member of staff in the highways department has been suspended from duty while investigations are ongoing,’ a council spokesman said.

‘The matter has been referred to the police. The council does not intend to make any further statements while the matter remains under investigation.’
