Capital ideas for Worcester

London-style red routes and bus-mounted CCTV could be seen in the cathedral city of Worcester, as part of a consultation to cut congestion.

Worcestershire County Council is currently looking at two of the city’s main routes, and how they can speed up the movement of buses and other traffic.

‘There are lots of potential options,’ said head of integrated transport, Andy Baker. ‘We will look at the responses to the consultation and see what needs to be done. Once approved, we will go into the detailed design phase, which will take months, and we expect to see measures in place by the end of 2009.’
