CECA publishes diploma guide

The first comprehensive guidance for employers taking on students enrolled on the new vocational diplomas has been produced.

Employers helping deliver the diploma are required to ensure the students are properly supervised, and employees may have to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

The guidance helps resolve issues surrounding the CRB checks. Published by the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA), the guidance is the first of its kind in relation to the diplomas and has been recognised as good practice by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

CECA director of training, Joe Johnson, said: ‘This guidance cuts through the “political speak” of official guidance and provides advice in a language employers understand.’
