Business acts on congestion

Business people in the Northwest will be meeting on 17 April to discuss how to encourage more commuters travelling between Manchester and Merseyside to use public transport.
With just 19% of the 35,000 commuters who travel between the two conurbations currently using public transport, the transport and business conference at Salford University will urge business people to discuss key travel issues which shape the existing congestion culture.
Companies will have the opportunity to talk about staff travel issues, how to encourage greener methods such as car sharing, and increasing the uptake of public transport.
