Skanska UK has acquired McNicholas ‘Brown Macs’, the major highway and street works contractor, for in the region of £50M.
Brown Macs will be merged with Skanska UK’s existing Utilities Operating Unit to create a combined business which will deliver more than £300M in revenue.
Michael Doherty, managing director of Brown Macs, said: ‘The integration of our businesses is very positive for both customers and employees.
‘The coming together of Skanska and McNicholas will allow us to accelerate our strategic plans and build a service offering which very few competitors will be able to match.’
