Brighton teams strike over pay

 
Waste collection teams across Brighton and Hove were on strike this week over plans to cut their salaries by up to £8,000 as part of an equal-pay deal.

The strikes, which have now been suspended for up to 21 days due to positive negotiations, left bins uncollected across the council area for two days.

Strikes in Leeds on a similar issue are now in their tenth week.
