Public consultation into a controversial pedestrian and cycle footbridge in Stratford Upon Avon will give residents the opportunity to voice outright opposition to the plans.
Councillors and conservation groups had voiced fears that the consultation by Warwickshire County Council would offer only a choice between five bridge designs, and not give residents the opportunity to reject the plan altogether.
However, question four in the consultation leaflet says: ‘If you do not like any of the designs, or are opposed to the idea of a new bridge, please give your reasoning in the box below.’
The five designs for the £2M project have been drawn up by some of the UK’s leading architects, and members of the public will have the opportunity to view details of the schemes at a series of public exhibitions which started over the August bank holiday and will run until the end of October.
