Bridges: M8 getting new footbridge

Scottish transport minister Tavish Scott has announced plans for a new footbridge over the M8 motorway at Hearthill service station, giving access to bus services between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The existing footbridge is in poor repair and will be demolished, once work on the replacement footbridge is complete in autumn next year, as part of a £4.1M upgrade at what was Scotland’s first motorway service station when it opened in the early 1970s.
